In 2019, Denver activists and teachers "flipped the board," winning a majority on the school board and defeating candidates in favor of closing existing schools and replacing them with new charter schools.
With four of seven school board seats up for grabs in Oakland in 2020, and with no incumbents running, we now have the same opportunity in Oakland.
Join us Saturday, 5/30 at 2 p.m for a discussion with members of the Denver coalition that successfully flipped the board on the lessons other cities can take from their struggle. The event will be streamed live to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ACTION2020BAY/live.
